About the Global Social Business Summit

The current economic and financial crisis makes it very clear that the current system is unsustainable. It is therefore the right time for us to change the way we do business. If you are interested to learn more about social business and connect with practitioners and experts in the field, the Global Social Business Summit will be the place to be for you.

The GSBS is the worldwide leading forum for social business, non-loss, non-dividend companies with a social goal. It serves to spread awareness about social business, foster discussion and collaboration between practitioners and stakeholders, as well as present and conceive best practices.

The annual event is organized by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and his Creative Advisor Hans Reitz, and gathers experts from the private sector, civil society, governments and academia over a few days of meetings, forums and workshops.

The GSBS is a platform where we can create our own space of inspiration and determination, create new value in the face of generational and structural shifts and leverage far-reaching advances in science and technology for our communities.

the 7th edition: berlin

creating a world without poverty and unemployment

"Berlin is the ideal place for the 7th GSBS – a city full of history, culture, energy and creativity…a truly unique capital at the heart of Europe."

                          – Hans Reitz, Head of Global Social Business Summit

Travelling across the globe from Germany to Austria, Malaysia and Mexico, the Global Social Business Summit 2015 will return to Germany and take over the city of Berlin from November 4th – 7th. The 7th edition represents an important step for the social business community we have fostered over the past years, as we are welcoming new participants with different backgrounds to increase our impact and expand our movement. In this spirit, inclusiveness, impact measurement and sustainability are three commitments we are placing at the center of the organization of the event.

For the 7th edition of the GSBS, we have designed a program inspired by the 7th principle of social business, “do it with joy!”, to provide a breathtaking experience to all participants. This year we want to showcase the role of empathy and stimulate your creativity through new inspiring platforms for problem-solving. Once again we are gathering renowned and inspirational speakers from social businesses, the business world, the political scene, as well as entrepreneurs, scientists and academics to deliver a conference with high quality content.

The host city of Berlin is certainly one of the most striking capitals in the world. It is a fertile ground for new ideas and creativity and therefore the ideal place for the Global Social Business Summit 2015. While the main conference of the GSBS will take place at the exceptional location of Tempelhof airport, we have decided to leverage the spaces surrounding the airport to host interactive workshops while engaging the local community.

We are excited to welcome you this November in Berlin!
