FOCUS GROUP #13

The ReSource Institute – Towards creating a social business bringing compassion training and consciousness into education, health systems and economy

 Partner MPI

Workshop Description

The ReSource Training was developed for the ERC-funded ReSource Project (www-resource-project.org),  recently carried out under the supervision of Prof. Dr Tania Singer at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences. This meditation-based mental training program aims at eliciting sustainable psychological and physiological changes through a scientifically validated Compassion Training by fostering individual resilience, pro-social motivation, effective communication, compassion and empathy,  while also initiating a broader societal impact. To achieve this, the future ReSource Institute will be founded as a social business that intends to provide tailor-made versions of this training program for different populations: businesses and political organizations, healthcare institutions, and educational settings. In addition, the institute plans to train new qualified teachers. The goal of the workshop is to create a sound social business concept and to explore possible funding opportunities through social investors and/or alternative sources.
