FOCUS GROUP #4

GROWING SOCIAL BUSINESSES BY PARTNERING WITH LARGE NGOS

Partner YSB Partner BCG

Workshop Description

Large international NGOs are key players in the social sector and account for several billion euros in fundraising revenues. If only a small portion of their operations were run as social businesses, this would give the social business movement a substantial boost.

This workshop explores this opportunity and the contribution that NGOs could have for the social business movement. We would like to share some of the experiences that SOS-Kinderdörfer has made within the field of social business and discuss how to bring the social business movement and large NGOs together. We would also like to address implementation challenges, e.g., regarding organizational buy-in, partnering models, financing, legal set ups, etc. and the opportunities for NGOs existent in partnering with social businesses.
